observation
the action or process of observing something or someone carefully or in order to gain information
hypothesis
a supposition or proposed explanation made on the basis of limited evidence as a starting point for further investigation.
prediction
a thing predicted; a forecast.
experimental
(of a new invention or product) based on untested ideas or techniques and not yet established or finalized.
variable
A variable is a quantity that may change within the context of a mathematical problem or experiment. Typically, we use a single letter to represent a variable.
experimental group
noun. (in an experiment or clinical trial) a group of subjects who are exposed to the variable under study: a lower infection rate in the experimental group that received the vaccine.
control group
A scientific control is an experiment or observation designed to minimize the effects of variables

correlation
a mutual relationship or connection between two or more things.
statistic
a fact or piece of data from a study of a large quantity of numerical data.
mean
intend to convey, indicate, or refer to (a particular thing or notion); signify.
distortion
the action of distorting or the state of being distorted.
probability
Probability is the branch of mathematics concerning numerical descriptions of how likely an event is to occur, or how likely it is that a proposition is true.
sample
a small part or quantity intended to show what the whole is like.
risk
a situation involving exposure to danger.
