What are renewable resources?
Resources that are continually being replaced.
How are resources renewable?
The resources are not used faster than they are replaced.
What resources are usually classed as renewable?(2)
o Water and air.
Where is pollution mainly affecting the environment?(4)
- The atmosphere
- Rivers
- Lakes
- Sea
What is resulted from the Misuse of resources?(2)
- Plants and animals die out.
- Misused Resources cannot not be used for the
economy.
What are Non-Renewable Resources?
The resources are not replaced when used.
How do resources become non-renewable?(2)
o They might form slowly overtime.
o Formed in conditions not presently on Earth.
What are Examples of Non-renewable resources?
o Ores (Gold, Iron, Platinum, etc.)
o Fossil Fuels (Oil, Coal and natural gases)
Why are natural resources being depleted and degraded?(3)
-Greedy Businesses over-exploit resources to maximize profits in short time periods.
-Gaps in our understanding of the natural processes involved.
-Population pressures resources. Rapid growth of the world’s population has depleted some resources.
