the 3 parts of exodus + explanation

A

1.The CALL: God called Moses to lead the Hebrews out of slavery in Egypt. This part of the story is also called The Liberation because it ends with Moses leading the people across the Red Sea

2.The COVENANT: The Hebrews (Jews) had to obey the 10 Commandments. In return, God promised to watch over and guide them.

3.The TEST: God let the Hebrews wander 40 years in the desert to see if they would be faithful in keeping the 10 Commandments

how do we have true freedom through the 10 comandments?

A

The Ten Commandments are NOT intended to restrict our freedom but to provide freedom and peace to the community.
These Laws have three purposes:
1.Laws protect us
2.Laws guide us
3.Laws unite us

his first reaction was worthlessness, he felt unworthy for such a important task, he was worried of rejection from the pharaoh and that he wouldn’t believe him or wouldn’t listen.

the 2 types of sin

A

Mortal Sin
*A complete break in one’s relationship with God (For example, murder)
*We make a conscious decision to turn completely away from God’s offer of love.

venial sin
*Does not completely separate us from God but represents a ‘cooling’ in the relationship. Examples might include a failure to be honest, or crude behaviour.

how are sin and freedom related?

A

when you sin you have consequses, intenaly and socialy. everytime you sin you become farther and farther away from God and when you sin your freedom decreases internaly (relationship with God) and socialy (with your parents) it then becomes a cycle.

atone is to make amends or reparation ( to be given mercy), he shows mercy by forgiving us whenever we do something wrong, and always being there for us no matter what.

A

Martin Luther King Is an example of a modern day Moses Because he was a big part of the liberation of Black people, He contributed to the political rights To end things like slavery and grants citizenship and the right to vote for black American citizens.
