Adverse
Adjective: unfavorable, negative; working against, hostile
Some people suffer an adverse reaction if they eat peanut butter or anything with peanuts .
Assailant
Noun: a person who attacks violently (with blows or words)

Verb: to meet, face-to-face, especially as a challenge; come to grips with

Contemporary
Adjective: belong to the same period of time as oneself;
Noun: a person of the same time
His novel used a contemporary style, but had a historical setting
Rather than ask parents for help, teens often turn to a contemporary for advice .
Depict
Verb: to betray; to represent or show in the form of a picture
The painter chose to depict a plain Prairie landscape, using both colors and shadows
Groundless
Adjective without any good reason or cause, unjustified
Kate groundless fear of hurting herself during exercise, has left and out of shape
Hypocrite
Noun: a person who pretends to be here she is not or better than she really is; a two-faced person
The speaker who said one thing, but something else entirely was regarded as a hypocrite
Mimic
Noun: a person who does imitations
Verb : to imitate; to make fun of
The comedy troop needs to hire a mimic.
Troy can mimic any accent he hears
Serene
Adjective: peaceful, calm; free, emotional upset; clear and free of storm; majestic, grand
She stayed serene in the face of chaos
Sheepish
Adjective: embarrassed, resembling a sheep in meekness, timid
His sheepish grin made the crowd cheer all the more for his unlikely victory
