When a player is nearer to their opponents goal line than the ball and past all defenders not including the goalie
Kickoff
Putting the ball into play at the beginning of the game and second half as well as when a goal is scored. Taken at the center of the field. Each player must stay in her own half of the field until the ball is kicked. The ball must move forward.
Halfbacks (midfielders)
2 to 4 players play both offense and defense
Goalie/Goalkeeper
They protect the goal and prevent the opponents from scoring. This player is the only player who may use his/her hands (only within the penalty area). Within the penalty area, he/she may only throw, punt or pick up the ball. Outside the penalty area, he/she no longer has goalie privileges.
