- possession
- control the property within framework of laws

- enjoyment- use in any legal matter
- disposition-sell, will transfer
Appurtenance
somethings that is transferred with or runs with the land
Riparian rights =
river,
if boat fits down river property line ends at start of bank
if boat doesn’t fit it ends at middle of bank
Littoral Rights =
lake ocean,
own land up to water and water up to high water mark
accretion
increases in the land resulting from the deposit of soil by water action
gaining of land
erosion
the gradual and sometimes imperceptible wearing away of the land by natural forces such as wind rain and flowing water
loss of land
avulsion
sudden change loss of land, because of natural disaster
Doctrine of prior appropriation
state owns the water
personal property
property can be owned that does not fit the definition of real property
