Intentionalism
When we obtain knowledge about the artist, his life, his intentions, and his state of mind when he created a particular work of art, we will have a definitive and authoritative account of what the work was meant to convey.
Anti-Intentionalism
You don’t gain any knowledge about the artist, his life, his intentions, and his state of mind. It’s what you believe is the real story about the artwork
