Unit 2-Objective 1 Flashcards
What is the composition of the atmosphere of the Earth today?
Earth’s atmosphere is composed of about 78 percent nitrogen, 21 percent oxygen, 0.9 percent argon, and 0.1 percent other gases.
What are 3 things that caused the atmosphere to change and how?
Human doings like Burning fossil fuels – Fossil fuels such as oil, gas, and coal contain carbon dioxide.
Volcanic activity spreading airs into the atmosphere
Changes in earths rotation/orbit
Example of an interaction with hydrosphere and biosphere within the earths system:
rain (hydrosphere) falls from clouds in the atmosphere and provides plant (biosphere) growth and nutrients.
Example of an interaction with atmosphere and biosphere within the earths system:
Plants (biosphere) takes in CO2 and lets out O2 affecting the air (atmosphere)
Example of an interaction with geosphere and biosphere within the earths system:
Plants(Biosphere) grow in the ground (geosphere)
