What does the word ‘abortion’ mean?

24 weeks - when if born the baby could survive outside the womb.

Abortion could be done properly by qualified medical staff. By law the woman had to persuade 2 doctors that her mental or physical health, or welfare of her existing children would suffer if she did not have the abortion. An abortion could be performed up to 28 weeks.
