Unit 2 Biology Flashcards
Diffusion
Movement from any particles from an higher concentration to a lower concentration following with the concentration gradient
Exocytosis
Large waste or cell products are released from inside to outside a cell
Osmosis
Diffusion of water molecules through a selective permamble memebrane
Dynamic equillibrium
A state reached when particles continue to move in equal amounts in and out of the cell
Endocytosis
Large particles are surrounded by the membrane and taken into the cell
Active transport
the transport of which particles require use of energy
Passive transport
the transport of which particles does not require energy
The structure most responsible for maintaining homeostasis is
cell membrane
the cell membrane is made up of
phospholipid bilayer
diffusion continues until
equillbrium is reached
if a cell is placed in salt water water leaves the cell by
osmosis
a cell moves from low concreatition to high concentration is called
Active transprt
is Facilitated diffusion passive or active
passive
is endocytosis active or pasive
Active
is exocytosis pasive or active
Active
