What was the French and Indian War about?
The war was between France v.s. Britian. They fought for land in the Americas. Britian won gaining land in the Americas. But , King George the Third would put a restriction of entering the new land. And since Britian gained war debt, they taxed the colonies, which would lead to anger in the colonies.
What acts/taxes did England put on the colonies?
Acts like the sugar act, tea act and Townshend act limited of what the colonists could buy from, or what they can own. This also taxed the colonies too much, leading to anger towards Britian.
What events would be caused by these acts? And how did these lead to the revolution?
Events such as the Boston Tea Party were caused by the Tea Act put to the colonies by Britian. This angered the colonists, leading to this event. Britian then put the Intolerable Acts. This now made the colonists fight the British, which would begin the Revolution.
How did the Declaration of Independence impact the revolution and the colonies?
The Declaration told Britain the grievances about King George the Third how he was unfair, didn’t give the colonies a voice in the Parlament, and that they wanted to break up.
What are the unalienable rights? How are they important?
Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. They are rights given to you once you’re born. It gave freedom to citizens.
Why was the Battle of Saratoga important during the revolution?
It was the turning point of the revolution.
How did the revolution end? What happened?
The revolution ended with the surrender of the British in Yorktown. Then in 1783, the Treaty of Paris was finally signed so the British could recognize America as an independent country.
