World Wide Web. A hypermedia-based system for browsing Internet sites.
Software
Software is the program or set of programs that tell a computer what to do.
Boolean Search Logic
Combining words and phrases using the words AND, OR, NOT and NEAR (otherwise known
as Boolean operators) to limit, widen, or define your Internet search
Internet
A network of networks; a group of networks interconnected via routers.
Central Processing Unit
(CPU). The central processing unit controls the operation of a computer.
HTML
HyperText Markup Language. The language used to create World Wide Web pages, with hyperlinks and markup for text formatting (different heading styles, bold, italic, numbered lists, insertion of images, etc.).
Virus
A program that can “infect” other programs by modifying them to include a, possibly evolved, copy of itself.
Science
The intellectual and practical activity encompassing the systematic study of the structure and behavior of
the physical and natural world through observation and experiment
Digital Camera
A camera that takes pictures without film, and records the images in digital form.
Digital Video Camera
A video camera is a camera used for electronic motion picture acquisition, initially developed
by the television industry but now common in other applications as well
CPU
Central Processing Unit. The CPU controls the operation of a computer.
URL
Uniform Resource Locator, the global address of documents and other resources on the World Wide Web.
Communication
The imparting or exchanging of information or news
Browser
Term used to describe the client program for the World Wide Web that allows users to read hypertext documents and navigate between them.
Download
To transfer files or data from one computer to another.
