Q

What are the three types of biodiversity?

A
  1. Ecosystem Diversity: The diversity of habitats an ecosystem has
  2. Species Diversity: The amount of different species that exist in an ecosystem.
  3. Gene Diversity: For a given population (group of the same species), how diverse the genepool is.

Q

Why is biodiversity important?

A

The amount of diversity in an exosystem allows it to be more resilient to population-disrupting events.

Q

Why are bottleneck events important?

A

When a population dereases by a lot, so does the biodiversity. Even though the population will increase, the biodiversity is still lower which does makes the environment less resistent.
