Amicable

Averse
Diana was averse to the idea of medication. She preferred to cure illnesses with natural ingredients, and refused to be treated in a hospital when she became sick with pneumonia. Instead, she spent hours searching the forest for amaranth.
Extol
After a deafening silence during which everyone averted their eyes from the waiting teacher, one brave student rose to his feet. He performed the skit that he had been assigned, then ended his solo with a flourish and bowed to the students that were extolling him.
Impervious
The immigrant advanced through his work’s hallways, feigning imperviousness to his co-workers’ racy jeers by puffing his chest out and staring stonily ahead.
Impetus
Although evidence pointed to Felan Freki as the murderer, an impetus was missing, so no reason existed for the man to kill his family.
Jeopardy
Despite the jeopardy that comes with surfing, many people choose to ignore the dangers of drowning and an attack by shark, and instead surf for the adrenaline and enjoyment.
Meticulous
The artist was extremely meticulous; he had to sketch every crack, fissure, and minute detail, to the point that a single drawing would take him hours to complete.
Retrogress
The brain injury that Bo suffered caused him to retrogress back to a babylike state, making him unable to eat alone, travel on two feet, and forcing him to talk in a meaningless ramble of foreign words.
Grimace
During science class, Pete couldn’t suppress a grimace as he carefully sliced a thin slit in the stomach of a baby pig. He shuddered at the disgusting smell emanating from the preserved organs.
