Increases heart rate, blood flow and blood sugar levels
What is the role and effect of insulin?
Helps control blood sugar levels by stimulating the liver to turn glucose into glycogen
What is the role and effect of testosterone?
Promote male secondary sexual characteristics:
-Extra facial and body hair
-Muscles develop
-Penis and testicles grow
-Sperm production
-Voice deepens
What is the role/effect of progesterone?
-Maintain the lining of the uterus
-Inhibit LH and FSH production
What is the role and effect of oestrogen?
Promote female secondary sexual characteristics:
-Extra underarm and pubic hair
-Hips widen
-Breasts develop
Menstruation:
-Lining of uterus develop
-Stimulates release of LH
