- Unauthorized Introduction written by Andreas Osiander dedicates the work to the Pope and calls it a ‘hypothesis’ and a ‘supposition’
- Doesn’t cause much fuss

- Drops balls of different weights from the leaning tower of Pisa
- 1615: Submitted to the Roman Inquisition for violating the Council of Trent (Heliocentric books get banned – recants and stays quiet)
- 1632: Publishes Dialogue Concerning the Two Chief World Systems at the behest of Pope Urban VIII
- Spends remaining life under house arrest

- German Astrologer and Astronomer
- 1609: Publishes Astronomia nova, a 10-year study of Mars’ orbit
- Laws: 1). Planets orbit the sun in an ellipse with the sun as one focus. 2). While planetary speed changes, the area of the ellipse covered in any given time frame is the same.
