Ada Lovelace (1815-1852)

English mathematician and writer who worked on a general purpose computer “The Analytical Engine”.

Recognizing its potential, she became one of the first computer programmers and published the first algorithm.

1950: Bernie the Brain by Joseph Kates - Tic Tac Toe with adjustable difficulty

1951: Nimrod by John Bennet - The math game “Nim”, one of the earliest games with a visual interface

1952: OXO by A S Douglas - Another Tic Tac Toe game, but first to display visuals on an electronic screen rather than light bulbs
