What is earth science?
The knowledge and organized methods of observing the earth and its processes using appropriate tools
What is a controlled variable?
A variable that is not changed
What is an independent variable?
A variable that is changed
What is a control group?
The group that does not receive the experimental treatment
What is the creation mandate?
God’s command in Genesis 1:28 Requires that man “subdue” or have stewardship over the earth
What is measured data?
Data collected by using instruments and counting
What is the scientific process/ method?
The process by which scientists formulate a hypothesis, gather data by observation, and experimentation, and come to a conclusion
What is Data?
Any information scientists collect by observing nature
What is an inference?
A conclusion reached on the basis of evidence and reasoning
What is the scientific law?
Describe things often by using equations or by stating rules
What is descriptive data?
Data collected by using words not numbers
What is a hypothesis?
an initial explanation for a problem
What does Genesis 1:26-27 say?
Then God said “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. Let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, the birds of the heavens, the livestock, and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth. So God created man in his image, the image of God he created them. Male and female, he created them.
What is redemption?
The restoring of something to the way it should be by paying a price
