Someone in a family who lived in the past.

Traveler to find new things
Who were the CREEK people?
A group of AMERICAN INDIANS that lived long ago in what is now GEORGIA.
Where in Georgia did the Creek people live?
All over - they usually built their towns and villages along rivers.
How many people lived in Creek towns?
400-600 people; + surrounding villages
What did the Creek people build their houses from?
Things found in nature: trees, grasses, rocks, etc.
How did the Creek people get food?
Farming, Gathering, Hunting, and Fishing
Where did the Creek people get their shoes and clothing?
They used some plants and animals to make them.
What did explorers find instead of gold in North America?
Great forests, plains, and rivers
Who was James Oglethorpe?
He started a colony in Georgia more than 100 years ago.
Who was Tomochichi?
A native Indian leader in Georgia who allowed Oglethorpe to settle the colony in GA.
Who was Mary Musgrove?
She was the translator that helped Tomochichi and Oglethorpe communicate.
