What is setting?
Setting is the time and place of a story.It influences mood
What is characterization
A device that is used by the author to show or tell about the characters. The author uses characterization to reveal traits about the characters and to develop their personalities

A:Is often the protagonist, but often the reader doesn’t admire their traits. They have something about them that makes them unlikeable
R:Often rejects expectations of their society in order to do what is right
M: More well-rounded than classic hero, may be unpredictable, they don’t have superpowers and sometimes will not achieve their goal

The main character.The story revolves around the character

The character that is against the protagonist
What is a Flat character
An underdeveloped character with few traits
What is a Round character
A developed character with many traits
What is a Dynamic character
A character who changes over the course of a story
What is a Static character
A character who stays the same over the course of a story
Introduction
The character are introduced, The setting is revealed,the goals of the protagonist are clear
Rising action
The problems is revealed, it gets in the way of the protagonist’s goals, suspense builds
Climax
The turning point in the story, the audience knows if the problem will be solved or not
Falling action
The result of the problem begins to be understood, details and unanswered questions may be answered
Resolution
The end of the story, the result is understood

Internal conflict. The character has a struggle within his own mind

Knows all the thoughts and fellings of several characters

The hint that the author gives about what will happen next in the story

Showing events from before the story started,through memories
What is Alliteration?
The repetition of consonant sounds at the beginning of near words
What is Assonance?
The repetition of vowel sounds within near words.

The main idea of the story
What is Imagery and Motif?
Imagery: visually descriptive ; sight,smell,hearing,taste,touch
Motif: element that has symbolic significance in a story
What is symbolism?
A object,person,place that represents something important

V: says one thing but means the opposite
S: When what actually happens is the opposite of what is expected

A story,poem or picture that sends a moral lesson to the audience
