Civic Nationalism
A nation that is a community of equal citizens that adheres to values of freedom, tolerance, equality, and individual rights.
Collective Consciousness
The members of a group or nation share similar values, beliefs, and internalized feelings based on their shared experiences.
Contending Loyalties
Loyalties of nations that compete with each other.
Ethnic
Belonging to a population group made up of people who share common cultural background or descent.
Identity
A fact of knowing who or what a person is. Factors include things such as sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion etc.
Linguistic
A person who has the ability to speak more than one language fluently.
Nation
A large population that forms a group because of shared characteristics that make them different from other people, mainly consisting of things like culture.
Nation-state
A territory with internationally recognized boundaries and a politically organized body of people under a sovereign government.
Nation Interest
A collective, shared sense of belonging of people who identify themselves as a nation.
Nationalism
A general shared sense of belonging of belonging of people who identify themselves as a nation.
Non-nationalist Loyalties
Loyalty to something other than your nation.
Patriotic
Expressing devotion and vigorous support towards one’s country.
Perspectives
The point that everyone has a different view or prospect on a certain subject due to different circumstances.
Pluralism
A condition or state in which two or more sources of authority co-exist.
Promoting National Identity
Promoting a sense of belonging to one’s nation.
