individuals in an organization responsible for DIRECTING & OVERSEEING the activities of others
What are managers for
They are responsible for coordinating and overseeing the work activities of others in an organization to achieve its goals efficiently and effectively
Where do managers work
They work in all types of industries and sector, including business and non-profits, government agencies, and educational institution
Common purpose of organization
Organization are formed to achieve specific goals providing a direction that influences the activities of the organization
Coordinated effort of organization
Activities in an organization are structured and coordinated to to achieve the organization goals
Organization division of labor
Task are divided into specific jobs or roles
Managers authority and responsibility
They have the authority to make decisions and the responsibility to direct and oversee the work of others
Managers scope of influence
They have a broader scope of influence, impacting not only the individuals they directly manage but also the organization as a whole through their strategic decisions
Managers contribution to goals
contribute by planning, organizing, leading and controlling resource to achieve these goals
Non-managerial employees
contribute to organizational goals through their specific tasks and output
What is non managerial employee
Carry out specific tasks or roles w/o the responsibility of overseeing others. They focus on executing tasks that are given by managers

They make decisions affecting the entirety of the firm
Middle level management
They are responsible for carrying out the goals set by top management
Lower level management
They are responsible for the daily management of line workers the employees who produce the product or offer the service
