What is right to life?
An individual’s life is protected by human rights laws and their lives should be valued and respected
What is consultation?
they should be asked for their opinions about their treatments and should be informed on what care they will receive
What is confidentiality?
private info should only be shared with individuals directly involved with an individual’s care
What is choice?
gives individuals control over their lives and increases self esteem as it promotes independence and empowerment
What is equal and fair treatment?
individuals working in or using h&s services should be treated within the law and according to their needs
What is protection from harm and abuse?
Care settings should have safeguarding procedures in place and follow health and safety legislation?
what is legislation?
laws passed by parliament that state the rights of an individual

promoting equality and diversity
