a government with many restrictions of power to protect rights of the people
What are Natural Rights?
rights you are born with and can’t be taken away or infringed upon (life, liberty, property (or pursuit of happiness))
What is popular sovereignty?
the consent of the governed
What is Republicanism?
representative democracy
What is a Social contract?
consent to be governed in return for protection of natural rights
What is a participatory democracy?
a democracy that emphasizes broad participation in politics for the citizens
What is a pluralist democracy?
a democracy that recognizes group-based activism by nongovernmental interests striving for impact on political decision making
