Q

Why might an officer develop a sense of victimization?

A

An officer might develop a sense of ‘victimization’ if they are over-invested in their professional identity and under-invested in their personal identity. With little control over many aspects of an officer’s profession, this may result in an increased likelihood of feeling a lack of control leading to a sense of ‘victimization’.
