Limited Government
A political system in which there are specific restrictions placed on the government in order to protect individual rights and liberties
Examples: Separation of powers, Checks and Balances, Federalism, Republicanism

A system of gov where power is held by the people
Ex: Pluralist, Participatory, Elite

All people are born with it, can never give it up Ex: Life liberty and prsuite of happiness

Written agreement between the people and gov we give up some rights then the gov protects the people. Ex: We give up the right to go 100mph the gov gives back safety

Shared sets of beliefs customs, traditions, and values that define the relationship of american people to the gov. Ex shared values and beliefs the important of liberty
Popular Sovereignty
the gov it’s right to rule from the people” consent of the governed if. Ex if government breaks we have the right to change the gov. VOTING
Republicanism
We elect leaders to make a decision for us. Ex limted gov
Liberty

A theory that widespread political participation by people is essential for democratic gov. People In Control
Pluralist Democratic
A theory of democracy that emphasizes the role of groups in the policy making process . Groups of People control
Elitist Democratic
A theory of democracy that the elites have disproportionate amount of influence in the policy making process. Rich People
