-Mercury
-Venus
-Earth
-Mars
-Jupiter
-Saturn
-Uranus
-Neptune
Why is life on Earth possible?
-Becouse of the distance from the Sun (not to be very cold or very hot.
-Becouse the Atmosphere regulates the planet’s temerature and contains gases that are essential for living things.
-Becouse almost three quarters of the Erath’s surface is covered by water. Water is essential for all living things.
Order the four layers of the Earth.
-Atmosphere
-Hydrosphere
-Geosphere
-Biosphere
What are the layers of the Eatrh?
-Crust (Continental and oceanic crust)
-Mantle (Upper and lower mantle)
-Core (Outer and inner core)
What is the Earth’s Rotation?
The 24 hours The Earth takes to complete one rotation on its own axis. This causes day and night.
What is the Earth’s Revolution?
The 365 days and almost 6 hours the Earth takes to complete an elliptical orbit arround the sun.
What’s a leap year?
Every four years a day is added to compensate for the extra hours. This leads to years that have 366 days.
What happens during summer?
One of the two hemispheres recives more direct sunlight. At the same time it is winter in the other Hemisphere.
What happens during spring and autumn?
The sunlight strike the two hemispheres in a similar way.
What’s a solstice?
Days that marks the beginning of winter and summer (21st December and 21st June).
What’s an equinox?
Days that marks the beginning of autumn and spring (23rd September and 21st of march).
Types of maps:
-Topographic (Physical environment and human elements).
-Thematic (Information on specific aspects and their distribution over the territory).
Types of projections on a map:
-Cylindrical projection (Project the surface of the globe onto a cylinder).
-Conical projection (Project the surface of the globe onto a cone, only represents a hemisphere).
-Azimuthal projection (Project the surface of the globe onto a plane at right angles to one of the poles).
Types of scale:
-Numerical (Expressed as a fraction)
-Graphic (Expressed by a straight line divided into equal segments, usually of 1 cm.
What are the meridians?
Imaginary lines that connect the poles from nort to south.
