Era
A long and distinct period of history with a particular feature or characteristic.
Archeology
The study of human history and prehistory through the excavation of sites and the analysis of artifacts and other physical remains.
Artifact
An object made by a human being, of historic interest.
Paleontology
The branch of science concerned with fossil animals and plants.
Fossil
The remains or impression of a prehistoric organism preserved in petrified form in rock.
Anthropology
The study of human societies and cultures and their development, and, The study of human biological and physiological characteristics and their evolution
Species
a group of living organisms consisting of similar individuals
Evidence
the available body of facts or information indicating whether a belief or proposition is true or valid
Primary source
documents, images or artifacts that provide firsthand testimony or direct evidence concerning an historical topic under research investigation.
Secondary source
one that was created later by someone who did not experience first-hand or participate in the events or conditions you’re researching
Point of view
the position from which something or someone is observed
Bias
prejudice in favor of or against one thing, person, or group compared with another, usually in a way considered to be unfair.
Conclusion
a judgment or decision reached by reasoning
Scholarly
involving or relating to serious academic study
Credentials
qualification, achievement, personal quality, or aspect of a person’s background, typically when used to indicate that they are suitable for something
