Crime committed by people of higher social class with lots of power
Examples: organised crime, corporate crime, professional crime, fraud
What are organised crimes?

Criminal activities that are planned and controlled by powerful groups and carried out on a large scale
Eg. Mafia

Crime being committed by or on behalf of a company
Eg. Cheating it’s customers or increasing tax
What are professional crimes?
Give examples
When a crime is committed by professionals who abuse their power
Eg accountants stealing their clients money
What is fraud?
Wrongful or criminal deception intended to result in financial or personal gain
What is a fraud expense claim?
Claiming back money from employees which aren’t work related

Typical offenders are someone in a high position with lots of responsibility. They abuse their power
Typical victims are lower class people who have less money and elderly people who aren’t advanced in technology
What is morality?
Principle concerning the distinction between right and wrong or good and bad behaviour. Going against society’s values.
What is moral crime?

Acts that go against morality and society’s norms and accepted behaviour
Examples: gambling, assisted suicide, drug use, bigamy, prostitution, begging

Typical victims: there are no victims as the people involved are allowing the situation to happen.
What is technological crime?

A crime that involves a computer or the internet
Examples: cyber bullying, hacking, illegal streaming, online gambling

Typical victims is anyone who uses the internet. Can be individuals or large organisations. Often vulnerable people
Typical offenders are people with access to and basic knowledge of the internet. Lots of offenders are overseas. NCA says there is an increase in young people committing this crime as they want to impress friends
