Unit 1 & 2 Generator Hydrogen Flashcards
What new safety gear do we have for Hydrogen?
New Jump suits.
Why do we use Hydrogen?
Low windage and High Thermal Conductivity.
What percent of purity do we keep Hydrogen in the generator during normal operation?
94% or higher.
What pressure do we keep seal oil in comparison to Hydrogen pressure?
3 to 8 Pounds higher.
Why do we use CO2 to purge the generator of Hydrogen?
Because it is heavier than Hydrogen and it don’t react with Hydrogen.
What are the three sources of Hydrogen?
The Tube Truck.
The Hydrogen banks.
Portable Bottles.
At what pressure does GSO-251 isolate?
50# and lowering.
What is the sources of Co2 we use to degas Generator?
71/2 Co2 tank. and portable bottles
What does the Co2 tank compressor do for us?
it Keeps the Co2 in Liquid form.
How do we turn the Liquid Co2 into Gas for degassing the generator?
We use the vaporizers that use Aux steam.
What is the mode of force that pushes the Hydrogen through the Hydrogen monitor?
The fans on the generator rotor.
What dose the GCM do?
Looks for particles of combustion.
What do you do if you get a GCM alarm?
You will go down and insert a filter into the flow path. If the alarm clears then you have a valid alarm, if the alarm does not clear then it is a problem with the GCM.
