eschatology
study of end of times
Beatitudes
- The blessings listed by Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount, highlighting virtues and values that lead to happiness and fulfillment.
parousia
- The Second Coming of Christ.
Sermon on the Mount -
A collection of teachings by Jesus found in the Gospel of Matthew, chapters 5-7.
actual sin -
A sin committed by an individual through their own willful actions.
Magisterium
The official teaching office of the Church: the Bishops in union with the Pope
It is the magisterium’s task to teach the faith and to ensure that believers honour the values of tradition in their lives
eschatological ethics
An ethics that insists that we can already live what God will realize or reveal at the end.
Tension that exists within us, as a result of our full knowledge of a “better world,” draws us toward a better life for all

Mosaic Covenant
The Ten Commandments → Mosaic Covenant
This is the covenant God established with the people of Israel at Mt.Sinai (The Promised Land) after he saved them from Egyption slavery.

Basic principles of morality
Considered to be the blueprint for the rules we live by
Provide the foundation for the moral code and legal system in Western Civilization
They state the type of relationship to which God hopes for humanity
Not to condemn humanity but rather set humanity free
interiority
the examination of one’s own conscious, thoughts and feelings
conversion
To change one’s mind, heart and behaviour
