Q

What are 4 ways you could identify errors in an unbalanced trial balance? RR

A

That the columns are correctly totalled.
The balances have been correctly copied over to the trial balance.
Check the bookkeeping entries since the last trial balance.
Check to see if the difference is divisible by 9, if so look for errors where numbers have been transposed (e.g. £69 entered as £96 = £27 difference, divisible by 9).
