What is some education related to glucocorticoid for RA?
Suppresses inflammation
Monitor BS, Electrolytes (potassium), S/S of GI bleed , take medication at same time each day.
What are some teaching for patients taking NSAIDs for RA ?
Pain relief and decrease of inflammation
Monitor for s/s of GI bleed, do not take with alcohol, clotting time is increased
What are some teaching for patient taking DMARDs ?
Medication alters inflammatory response, decreases inflammation and slows disease progression
Monitor for S/S bleeding, NO IM INJECTION, monitor CBC/PLTs

Morning stiffness lasting more than 30 minutes
