-pseudocyst -rapid growth, painful -young adults -well defined multilocular RL -blood soaked sponge in cavity -lots of MNGCs and RBCs

Static bone cyst / Stafne defect

-pseudocyst -pathognomonic -well defined RL ALWAYS BELOW MANDIBULAR CANAL -SM gland trapped in cyst

Ameloblastoma

-epithelial tumor -posterior mandible of adults -recurrence common -does not form hard or soft tissue -unilocular or multilocular RL, pericoronal, may cross midline -resembles enamel organ (developing tooth)

Follicular ameloblastoma

-easily visible stellate reticulum -reverse polarity of cells seen

Plexiform ameloblastoma

Desmoplastic ameloblastoma

-anterior jaws, both -ILL DEFINED RADIOPACITY -dense collagen stroma = radiopaque

Peripheral ameloblastoma

-gum bump -no radiographic presentation

Unicystic ameloblastoma

-well defined pericoronal unilocular RL -posterior mandible -Vickers Gorlin change: --nuclear hyperchromatism --nuclear palisading --reverse polarity of basal nuclei --subnuclear vacuolation

Adenomatodi odontogenic tumor AOT

-epithelial tumor -mixed density due to calcifications -maxillary anterior region -teen females -well defined unilocular RL w/ mixed density radiopacities -diverges teeth -only tumor w/ PSEUDODUCTS --1row of cells instead of 2 on duct

Calcifying epithelial odontogenic tumor CEOT / Pinborg tumor

-epithelial tumor -adults -posterior mandible, ramus -well defined unilocular or multilocular RL w/ possible calcifications -histo shows pink polygonal polyhedral cells -contains amyloid = pink cotton candy -concentric Leisegang ring calcifications

Odontogenic myxoma

-mesenchymal tumor -young adults -mandible -uni or multilocular RL -crosses midline -recurrence common, aggressive -resembles dental papilla

Odontogenic fibroma

-mesenchymal tumor -central or peripheral -adult middle aged females -well defined unilocular or multilocular RL -anterior maxilla and posterior mandible equally -may see radiopaque flecks

Cementoblastoma

-mesenchymal tumor -young adults -mandibular 1st molar -painful, expansion, root resorption -well defined radiopaque mass attached to tooth as 1 unit -VITAL TEETH

Odontoma

-mixed tumor -teens -well defined -complex: --large radiopaque mass --no organization -compound: --mass of mini teeth --organized dental layers

Ameloblastic fibroma

-mixed tumor -kiddie tumor -posterior mandible -well defined pericoronal RL -impacted tooth -resembles dental papilla on histo

Ameloblastic fibro-odontoma

-mixed tumor -kiddie tumor -posterior mandible -unerupted tooth -well defined unilocular or multilocular mixed density lesion -presence of enamel and dentin on histo
