Name 3 physical developments of infancy
Gross motor skills eg crawling, pulling to stand, supporting head.
Fine motor skills eg hand-eye co-ordination, building blocks, colour
Primitive reflexes eg blinking, breathing
Name 3 intellectual patterns of development in infancy
1.At the beginning is a toy falls out of a cot the baby will not look for it but as the are older they will have learnt that objects that they no longer see still exists
2. At first infants can’t talk or understand language so they learn about the world through their senses eg taste-babies put everything in their mouth.
3. As they are near the end of infancy they will start to speak very simple sentences. Eg zoe sleep meaning zoe wants to go to sleep
Expected emotional pattern of development for infancy
1.A strong bond should be formed with their carers
2.Starts to learn what upsets their family and what brings pleased responses
3. At the end of infancy they are happy to be left with people they do not know for short periods of time
What age is adolescence
11-18
What age is middle adulthood
40-64
Expected social patterns of development for infancy
- At first the main relationship is with the primary carers then extends to brothers and sister
- At the beginning infants play alone(solitary play) then they play alongside others (parallel play) and eventually learn how to share (co-operative play)
Expected physical development of childhood
- Children learn to catch and throw and develop a good sense of balance
- Their milk teeth will be replaces by permanent teeth
- Control of small movements increase eg drawing recogniable pictures
Expected intellectual development of childhood
1.Communication and language development improve greatly
2. Learn to read and write
3. Memory develops
Expected emotional development of childhood
- Develop a range of new feeling and how to deal with them eg fear, hate and jealousy
- Their personality develops
- They will begin to empathise but will still be self centered
Social development of children
- Children begin to have special friends
- Tend to have gender based friendships
- They can be separated from their main carer
Physical development of adolescence
- Boys tend to be bugger then girls and develop a deep voice
- Girls bodies start to develop the curves of womanhood they also start menstruation and it starts at different times for each girl
- All adolescence increase their strength, stamina and co-ordination
