Creating an image of a group of people, is usually oversimplified, by assuming that all members are similar or all the same.
Stereotyping.
Drawing a conclusion that isn’t specific enough based on the conclusion you already have.
(Ex. You fail one math test and conclude that you are terrible at math in general.)
Overgeneralizing
Erases the difference among people, trend toward uniformity.
Homogenization
Balancing TWO cultures, while adapting to the society.
Acculturation
Accepting and creating a solution or space for one another.
Accomodation
The culture of a minority group disappears as its members take on the identity of the other culture. Forced or voluntary. In hopes of making life easier.
Assimilation
When unique cultures regain a sense of identity.
Cultural Revitalization
A company that is based in one country while developing and manufacturing its products in more than one country.
Multinational corporation
The gap between the people who do and do not have access to up-to-date technology.
Digital Divide
The trends in the culture of others (which spreads because of its popularity)
Pop Culture
The spread of culture, trends, customs, and practices around the world.
Universalization
Mixes elements of different cultures so that everyone can understand them.
Hybridization
Extra This was before the industrial revolution (1754-1914) This is the benefit of trading or commercialism.
Mercantilism
“Legal framework, regarding cultural rights.” Reffering to the symbolic meaning of cultural values.
Cultural content legislation
The diversity specifically directed toward different cultures, It’s what helps build a culture.
Cultural diversity
The laws and regulations of the province (Regarding the language)
Language laws
Linguistic Revitalization
An Attempt to bring an extinct or endangered (Slowly disappearing) language back.
Freedom to express yourself through language.
