A

Monophyly confirmed by unique tagmosis of all members (except entognatha).
Head has six segments
Thorax has three segments
Abdomen has eleven segments primitively, the Collembola has a six segmented abdomen.
The ancestral condition, all abdominal segments have limb prudiments.
Has faceted (compound) eyes
