UNIFORMLY ACCELERATED MOTION 4.1 Flashcards
the action of changing location or position
motion
Described only by a magnitude. They do not have a direction of action.
Scalar quantity
is any quantity that has magnitude and direction, such as displacement or velocity.
Vector quantity
The rate and direction of an object’s movement
Velocity
The rate at which an object is moving along a path
Speed
How much ground an object has covered during it’s motion
Distance
How far out of place an object is or the object’s overall change in position
Displacement
How long it took the object from one position to another
Time
Rate at which velocity changes with time, in germs of both speed and direction
Acceleration
is a frictional force which opposed the motion of a falling object.
Air resistance
Is negligible and therefore has an insignificant effect on the falling object
Free fall motion
