Q

What is a nutritional therapist?

A

This type of therapy involves working with individuals to promote health, physical performance and well-being. It is recognised as a complimentary therapy medicine that is quite often relevant for those with chronic conditions: to help them address any nutritional imbalances and support them towards better health. Nutritional therapy is not seen as a replacement for medical advice, and the therapist will frequently work alongside other health care professionals involved in the client’s care.

Q

What are Contraindications?

A

This is any instance when giving advice is not allowed as it may cause harm or worsen any pre-existing conditions that a client may have. A proper screening and consultation process will ensure that you only support suitable clients and signpost others to professionals such as a GP or a dietician when appropriate.
