What are the two steps to registering a CI?
- Registration Worksheet & agreement to give information
- Supervisors must approve once CI’s entered and checked
You CANNOT use CI until approved by supervisor
What is the difference between an (source of information) SI and a CI?
SI’s get a one time payment, CI’s get more than one payment
What is the difference between a Deactivated CI and a Terminated CI?
Deactivated CI’s are no longer needed, case finished or info was all received.
Terminated CI’s are “fired” and may not be used again

What should you do with a CI before sending them out on an operation?
Search his person

What’s the difference between a CI and a (cooperating defendant) CD?
CD’s require:
approval from court
approval from parole/probation
defense attorney

money you SHOW, NOT money to spend
