Ultrasound Flashcards
What view is this? What ECG technique is used to achieve this view?
Apical 4 chamber view
*probe placement at apex of heart and aimed superiorly
*may be oriented to cut from medial to lateral or rotated 90 degrees to cut from anterior to posterior.
What view is this? What ECG technique is used to achieve this view?
Apical 5-chamber view
*probe placement at apex of heart and aimed superiorly
*may be oriented to cut from medial to lateral or rotated 90 degrees to cut from anterior to posterior.
What view is this? What ECG technique is used to achieve this view?
Parasternal Short Axis View
- orienting probe so that it scans from right to left and back again creates transverse scans
What view is this? What ECG technique is used to achieve this view?
Parasternal Long Axis of the Left Ventricular Outflow Tract (LVOT) and Right Ventricular Outflow Tract (RVOT)
- turning the probe 90 degrees, allows for sectioning of the heart along the long axis
