1) Same as those for therotherapy
2) Eyes, ears, sinuses, or over genitalia
3) Pregnancy
4) Cancer
5) Open epiphyses
6) Over spinal cord
7) Cardiac pacemaker
US Precautions
1) Same as those for thermotherapy
2) Over tendons
3) Fractures
4) Acute inflammation

Deep- 1 MHz
Superficial- 3 MHz
US Intensity
Low:
0.1-0.5 w/cm^2
acute conditions
Moderate:
0.5-1.5 w/cm^2
subacute or acute deep tissue
Strong:
1.5-3.0 w/cm^2
chronic inflammation
US duration
10 minutes
Speed of US sound head movement
4 cm/second
