Ulna Flashcards
What is the olecranon process?
located at the proximal end of ulna, on the posterior surface, forms prominent point of the elbow and provides attachment for tricep.
What is the trochlear notch?
called the semi-lunar notch; articulates with the trochlea. forms prominent point of the elbow and provides the attachment for the brachialis.
What is the radial notch?
located at the proximal end of the lateral side, just distal to trochlear notch; articulation point for the head of the radius.
What is the ulnar tuberosity?
located below coronoid process; provides attachment for the brachialis muscle.
What is the styloid process?
located at distal end of posterior/medial surface.
what is the head of the ulna?
located at the distal end of the lateral surface; ulnar notch of radius pivots around it during pronation/supination.
What is the head of the radius?
at proximal end, has a cylinder with a depression in superior surface, when it articulates with the capitulum and humerus.
Want is the radial tuberosity?
located on the medial side, proximal end; provides attachment for biceps.
What is the styloid process of the radius?
located on the posterior side of radius at distal end; provides an attachment for the brachioradialis muscle.
