where only one party is allowed to operate, highly authoritarian, not democratic, such as Cuba, North Korea or China

A
democratic systems that do allow parties to operate freely but only one party has a realistic chance of taking governmental control, stable but a lack of competition, accountability and representation

A
only two parties have a realistic chance of forming government, they win the vast majority of votes at elections and most of the seats
