UE Flashcards
This nerve provides sensation to the medial forearm and 4th and 5th digits.
C8 radiculopathy
This nerve provides sensation to lateral forearm and first two digits
C6 radiculopathy
T/F: When you have sensation at thenar eminence but numbness of thimb, digits 2 and three it is carpal tunnel
True
This nerve injury causes numbness of anterior, lateral, posterior shoulder around deltoids.
Axillary
This nerve causes numbness of anterior, lateral, posterior and superior shoulder.
C4
This is numbness of dorsum of the hand of the first two digits but the tip of the thumb is spared. Also numbness of the posterior forearm
Radial nerve
This nerve provides sensation to the top anterior and posterior shoulder
Supraclavicular C3-4
This provides sensation to lateral shoulder
Axillary superior lateral brachial nerve C5-6
This nerve provides sensation to lateral lower humerus
Radial C5-6
This nerve provides sensation through bicep areas down medial forearm to the wrist
Medial antebrachial cutaneous (c8-t1)
This nerve provides sensation to anterior lateral forearm
Musculocutaneous C5-6
This nerve provides sensation to 4th and fifth digits of Palmer hand
Ulnar nerve c8-t1
This nerve provides sensation to the dorsum of the hand digits 1-3
Radial nerve C6-8
This will cause weakness of FPL, APB, FDP, sensory disturbances to digits 1-3 and thenar eminence plus weakness of Pronator teres
Ligament of struthers entrapment
With this nerve entrapment you will will have weakness of FPL, APB, FDP digits 2-3. Have numbness of digits 1-3 and thenar eminence
Median- Pronator teres syndrome
This syndrome has weakness of PFL, FDP. Forearm pain but no sensory symptoms. Unable to make OK sign
Anterior interosseus syndrome
Nocturnal symptoms, shaking hands relieve symptoms, sensation of thenar eminence is spared
Carpal tunnel
What is the carpal tunnel CPR
Shaking hands improves symptoms
Wrist ratio index >.67
Symptoms severity score >1.9
Diminished sensation of the thumb
Age>45
This is compression where there’s triceps loss, wrist drop, thumb extension weakness paresthesia of posterior lateral arm, posterior hand and wrist.
Crutch palsy/posterior cord compession
This has wrist drop, thumb extension weakness paresthesia of posterior lateral arm, posterior hand and wrist. Full triceps strength.
Honeymooners or Saturday night Palsy. Radial nerve
This will have a deep ache distal to the lateral epicondyle, no sensory symptoms, aggravated by repetitive wrist flexion and pronation. Weak thumb extension, index finger extension, painful resisted supination.
Compression of the posterior interroseus nerve/radial in the arcade of frohse/radial tunnel
Positive tinel’s at site, positive finklesteins with pain or sensory disturbance on dorsum of hand
Radial nerve, warrenbergs, handcuff palsy.
This has pain and sensory symptoms at 4th and 5th digits. Symptoms worse with elbow flexion, positive froments, and wartenberg (5th digit abducted)
Cubital tunnel, ulnar nerve compression
This has weakness of the ulnar intrinsics, sensory symptoms at hypothenar and palmar 4th and 5th digits. Can only be sensory or only motor.
Compression the of the ulnar nerve at guyon’s canal
