• The writer uses a short sentence to put a powerful point across and make it seem important.

Imagery example
• “Like an addict” is a simile.
• The writer is comparing them self to someone with a strong want to do something. They Both have a uncontrollable need.
• this suggests how extreme the writers cravings for his phone and social medias are.
Understanding question
• look at number of marks
• identity a piece of information relevant to the question for each mark
• express the meaning in your own words as far as possible.
