Q

what are the steps to write a proof by contradiction?

A
  1. assume the opposite of the “prove” statement.
  2. use deductive reasoning to show that your assumption and the given information cannot both be true.
  3. finish by saying that you reached a contradiction and that the original conclusion must be true.
