What is Health and Wellbeing
Health and wellbeing relates to the state of a person’s physical, social, emotional, mental and spiritual existence.
What is Physical H+W
Physical H+W is a state of physical wellbeing that relates to the functioning of the body
What is Mental H+W
The state of a person’s mind and the ability to process information.
What is Emotional H+W
The ability to recognise emotions
What is Social H+W
The ability to form meaningful relationships with others
What is Spiritual H+W
Ideas, beliefs, values and ethics that arise in the mind and conscience of human beings.
What is a perspective?
A particular attitude towards or way of regarding something, it is a point of view.
What is the Youth perspectives of health and wellbeing
Youth as a population group are generally very healthy and do not suffer from the wide range of illnesses that occur during adulthood.
Many youth associate being healthy with the absence of illness.
Young people also clearly associate health and wellbeing with their everyday life and how well they function.

What is Health Status
refers to an individual’s or population’s overall health, taking into account factors below

refers to ill-health (including disease, injury and disability) in an individual and the level of ill-health in a population
(Someone who has a disease or medical condition)
What is Rate of hospitalisation
Overall, the youth stage of the lifespan is characterised by relatively low levels of hospitalisations compared to other lifespan stages.
What is Burden of Disease
Burden of disease is the measure of impact of disease and injury. It measures the gap between current health status and the ideal situation where everyone lives to an old age free of disease and disability.
It is measured with a unit called DALY
