U1-3 Flashcards
Measures of Frequency
Shows how often something occurs (count, percent, frequency)
Measures of Central Tendency
Locates the distribution by various points (mean, median, mode)
Measures of Position
Describes how scores fall in relation to one another (percentile ranks, quartile ranks)
Measures of Variation
Identifies the spread of scores by stating intervals (range, variance, standard deviation)
Mean
Most common measure of central tendency, is calculated by adding all the values in a set and dividing by the number of values.
Median
The midpoint of the distribution. If even, add the middle values and divide by 2.
Mode
Most frequently occurring value.
Geometric Mean
Multiply the n data points and take the nth root of the product.
