A
- Taking care not to over-generalise or stereotype
- Recognising that language may be a major barrier in getting to know another culture directly
- Being aware of own motive for wanting to get to know another culture and ensuring the right focus
- Watching videos/films and documentaries of other cultures as a readily available alternative to have direct contact with them
- Seeking out bilingual, bicultural friends to ask and learn about the general characteristics of that particular culture
- Doing your own research through reading books, journals, resources online
- Making friends with someone from the ethnic culture you want to learn about, living among that community. Good for overcoming biases & stereotypes.

- Learn from other colleagues or experts in the sector.
