3. Being aware of own motive for wanting to get to know another culture and ensuring the right focus
4. Watching videos/films and documentaries of other cultures as a readily available alternative to have direct contact with them
5. Seeking out bilingual, bicultural friends to ask and learn about the general characteristics of that particular culture
6. Doing your own research through reading books, journals, resources online
7. Making friends with someone from the ethnic culture you want to learn about, living among that community. Good for overcoming biases & stereotypes.
